Resident Meal Plans

Your resident meal plan is adding greater flexibility. Your meal plan can also be used atCafe in the Park and Bricks on campus. Gator dollars will continue to be accepted. Details of the meal exchange option bundles are posted in each dining location. We encourage you to watch for updates on our Facebook and Twitter page.

As you'll soon find, your San Francisco State University Dining Services experience will be vastly different than what you might expect on a college campus.

When you use your meal plan, rest assure we've thought of everything from sourcing local ingredients to allergen-conscious dishes to waste diversion and composting. 

A meal plan keeps cash in your pocket, saves you time, and gives you the ultimate flexibility to choose from over eight dining platforms at City Eats. Just for signing up for one of the meal plans, you will experience the following: 

  • Healthy, well-balanced and mindful meals 
  • Unlimited seconds at all meals 
  • Vegan and vegetarian dishes 
  • Globally-inspired creations 
  • Special events and theme activities 

Participation in a meal plan is mandatory for all Licensees residing in the Residence Halls (Mary Ward and Mary Park Halls), Towers at Centennial Square Jr. Suites, Towers at Centennial Square Apartments, and the Village at Centennial Square. 

Continuous Meal Plans

  • 7 Day Continuous
    The 7-day plan allows students to dine seven days a week, including weekends for any meal period. This plan also provides eight guest passes. 
  • 5 Day Continuous 
    The 5-day plan grants students access to City Eats during any meal period, Monday through Friday. This plan provides four guest passes. 

Block Meal Plans

  • 336 Block or 240 Block 
    These plans provide students with a set number of meals (also known as swipes or blocks) for each semester. One meal will be deducted from the student’s meal plan upon entry to City Eats, Bricks, or Cafe in the Park. Unused meals do roll-over semester to semester, but expire at the end of the academic year and are forfeited. 
  • 112 Block or 80 Block
    These meal plan packages are only available for returning or transfer students who reside in Village Centennial Square or Towers at Centennial Square Jr. Suites. Unused meals do roll-over semester to semester, but expire at the end of the academic year and are forfeited.

Requests to decrease meal plan choices to any other lower meal plan may only be made until Monday, August 28, 2016, in Fall Semester , in Fall Semester and January 30, 2017 in Spring Semester.

Do I need to purchase a meal plan?

If you are a resident of San Francisco State University living in Mary Ward, Mary Park, or Towers, yes. It's a great value and it is SF State’s policy that all designated campus residents purchase a meal plan each semester.

 

If you live in University Park North or University Park South you are not required to purchase a meal plan. You can still purchase a voluntary meal plan with us that gives you great package choices that don’t expire as long as you are enrolled as a student.

What meal plan is best for me?

What are Gator Dollars?

Gator Dollars are cash values voluntary purchased from the One Card office. They work like a prepaid debit card with funds kept on your student ID card. Gator Dollars may be used at any participating on-campus dining location including Café in the Park, Bricks, and City Eats.

Do Block Meals carry over from semester to semester?

Block meals may be used during the semester in which are purchased. Unused blocks, also known as swipes or meals, carry over from semester to semester; however, they do expire at the end of the academic year (for mandatory meal plans).

Can I change my meal plan if it does not fit my needs?

Requests to increase meal plan choices to any other higher meal plan may be made at any time during the academic year. Requests to decrease meal plan choices to any other lower meal plan may only be made until Monday, August 28, 2016, in Fall Semester and January 30, 2017 in Spring Semester. Licensee billing statement will be adjusted to reflect any changes in meal plan. Requests to increase or decrease meal plan choices are limited to once per semester. In order to request a change of meal plan, the Licensee must sign a "Change of Meal Plan Request Form" at the Housing Business Office before the indicated deadlines.

If I'm not a Resident Hall Student, where do I buy my meal plan?

You can choose from four great voluntary meal plan options that keep rolling over as long as you are enrolled as a student!

Where Can I Use My Meal Plan?

There are three locations you can use your meal plans at. Meal plans (blocks or swipes) can be used at City Eats, our all-you-care-to eat dining hall with seven different food stations. Meal swipes can be used at Cafe in the Park for great to-go options and a cup of Starbucks coffee or at Bricks, our late-night Italian pizzeria.

Dining Policies

One of our main goals is to provide a pleasant, clean, comfortable and satisfying dining experience. In order to meet this goal, we ask for your assistance with the following procedures:

  • Please bus your dishes and disposables from your table when you have finished dining
  • Please refrain from taking food, dishes or utensils from the dining area.
  • Remember that meal cards are non-transferable. Meal cards cannot be used by anyone but the purchaser.

One Card

Meal plan information is stored on your University One Card. Lost or stolen cards can be replaced by going to the Student Services Building, ground floor.
